About
Aussie Alt Christian is a progressive Christian voice on faith, identity, social justice, and what it means to follow Jesus in modern Australia. It began in 2017 and gathers more than a decade of essays, sermons, parliamentary submissions, and personal reflections.
About Jason Masters
I write here as a businessman, a Christian, and a gay man. I own and operate a boutique consulting firm, sit on a number of boards, and work as an educator of company directors. I am also a father of two young adult children, and someone deeply involved in my church denomination at almost every level, in a variety of leadership roles.
Over more than a decade I have made submissions to Federal and State inquiries — on the proposed religious freedom legislation, the NSW curriculum, and related bills — often on behalf of LGBTIQA+ people of faith. Alongside that advocacy I preach, and much of what you will read on this site began as a sermon or a reflection written soon afterwards.
Aussie Alt Christian is where these worlds — business, governance, faith, and public life — meet: a place to argue, in public and in good faith, for a Christianity that includes rather than excludes.
What we cover
